Klonghae floating Market is a famous floating market located in Thanon Klonghae Hat Yai. It’s also one of the top 5 shopping places in Hat Yai city. It is about 15 to 20 minutes from Hat Yai by tuk tuk(local transportation).
At the intrance of the floating market sits a temple name Wat Klonghae. And both sides along the road to the floating market are large number of street vendors. But you have to know that not all the foods sell in this section are halal.
From the intrance to the floating market you need to walk about 100 meters and than you will cross the bridge. From the bridge you will definitely see the floating market on your left. And don’t worry about halal food. In this section all the food are halal. All the vendors are also moslem.
In this floating market you will find many kind of traditional thai food and drinks. You can also see thai people, culture and so on. I’ve been there once and I found this floating market is really interesting. I found something unique from this floating market. It is about how the transaction between the vendors and the customers were done. The food was put on the basket and the vendors handed it to the customers. Yet also the customers do the same thing to hand the money to the vendors. And you know what? The serving plates and cups are also unique. They used banana leafs, bamboo tubes and clay pots.
Actually Klonghae floating market has some section. In the other side of the floating market is a section used as the shopping area. You can find some t-shirts, bags, accessories, and some other local product. So, what are you waiting for?
